It’s a creative time for us in the Moreton Bay Region with the new USC campuses in Caboolture and Petrie popping up in the near future, they’ll be something for every creative and clever cookie.

Whether you have a particular area of interest, or are looking to broaden your creative horizons, there is something for everyone at USC and at next weekends Generate.

I’m into Performance/Physical Art

Shake those arms and wiggle those legs with some of the great physical art workshops on offer at Generate.

Bust a move at the Hip Hop workshop presented by The Posse or test your balance and poise on the USC Slackline workshop.

I’m into Live Music

If you’re more musically inclined, the USC Main Stage is full of fresh talent. Here are just a few of the acts that you can’t miss!

Fat Picnic 

Sink into the fun, infectious beat of Fat Picnic and a world of ska, reggae, funk and hip hop. By mixing instruments of bass, brass and lap steel guitar, this eight-piece band will have you grooving to the beat in no time.

The Dreggs 

Prepare to get captivated with the duos acoustic folk and reggae tunes. This talented duo also writes originals and covers songs with their own twist, so stay tuned for what they have in store!

The Dosed 

Get ready for a wave of contagious energy and stage presence from three-piece band, the Dosed! Hailing from the Sunshine Coast, the Dosed started jamming together from an early age before making the progression into the three-piece they are today and into the Sunshine Coast music scene.

Efiq Zulfiqar 

Through a combination of voice, traditional and electronic instruments and love for native Sudanese culture, Efiq’s compositions are nothing short of unique – don’t miss out!

I’m in to Art Galleries

For those that prefer quiet reflection, check out the Generate gallery which play host to a variety of different art mediums. Among the collection will be a photography exhibition not to be missed by past and present students studying photography at USC entitled How the light gets in.
